I've been feeling under the weather for a week now. Mom's been making me her soothing Kadha, and with each sip, I feel a gentle comfort washing over me. Her care surrounds me, making me feel nourished and healed.
Mom and Dad's love is beyond compare. Yet, in the past two days, a simple act of kindness has brought a flood of happiness into my heart.
I work at a restaurant, creating their designs. Yesterday, I was sneezing all day, with 3-4 sneezes in a row every hour. The persistent ickiness around my nose just wouldn’t go away.
I sat quietly, my laptop open, working on an event's design when the sneezing began again. A single sneeze escaped me, followed by a faint "God bless you" from somewhere unseen. I thought it was just my imagination because I had been sneezing so much. But then came the second sneeze, and with it, a server appeared from behind, leaving a tissue by my side. I was momentarily stunned; in such a busy place, someone had noticed and cared. That small act of kindness brought healing to my weary soul...Moments later, the same server, sensing my struggle, returned with more tissues. I happened to tuck them beside my laptop, feeling a warmth spread within me.
A simple gesture truly made my day. Sometimes, those closest to us miss what strangers see so clearly. It renewed my faith in the quiet kindness that exists in our world.
Today, as I returned to work, the servers on my floor, aware of my illness, greeted me with a glass of water and another bundle of tissues. I tucked these under my laptop once more. This small, often unnoticed act has humbled me deeply. I feel a new connection to this place and its people.

I smile more.
It’s a reminder to be kind. A small act of kindness can go a long way. In my heart, I believe there is nothing that kindness and love cannot heal.
They have healed me.
Love,
Tanaya.
